Jackson and Evan Burger made these fishing line disposal receptacles just for Cupsaw Lake. Three have been placed around the lake, one at the dam, one leading onto Turtle Island, and one on Turtle Island. Please put you used fishing line in them for proper disposal.
Fishing line is hazardous to our wildlife. It can get caught around birds’ necks, wings, or legs. Raccoons, muskrats, mink and other animals can get entangled in old fishing line.
The receptacles will be monitored by the boys. When they are full, they’ll be emptied, and the old fishing line will be sent to a fishing line recycling company.
Thanks to Jackson and Evan Burger for ensuring our lake is clean and our wildlife is safe.
