Lake Swim Requirements

Join us for this great Cupsaw Weekend Tradition.  For the safety of all of our swimmers, there are some requirements for the boaters and the swimmers: 

  • All Swimmers, adult and child, must have their own boater for the entire swim. 
  • All boaters for the adult swim must be 13 years of age or older
  • All boaters for the kid’s swim must be 18 years of age or older, or be lifeguard certified.
  • If you do not have a boater, please ask around, check the boater volunteer sheet at the lake, or contact Triciasiegel31@gmail.com.
  • All kid swimmers 13 and under must pass a swim test to the buoy during the weeks before Cupsaw Weekend.  Kids who take morning swim lessons will take the buoy test in class.  If your child misses the buoy swim, or is not in morning lessons they must attend a testing time.  Please ask your child if they have passed the test.

    • Tues. July 24th                4:45
    • Thurs. July 26th              5:45
    • Sat. July 28th                 9:30

Kids Triathlon

Join us Saturday August 4th for our 9thAnnual Kids Triathlon.

Open to CLIA members ages 5 to 14.

Sign up at the Lake by Friday August 3rd.

 

Event Distances:

5/6 year olds:  shallow end swim to rope, bike 2 laps around the parking lot circle, run 1 lap

7/8 year olds:  25 meter swim, 1 mile bike, ½ mile run

9/10 year olds:  50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, ½ mile run

11/12 year olds:  50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run

13/14 year olds:  100 meter swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run

 

ALL participants must wear a bike helmet on the course, including adults.  NO EXCEPTIONS

All participants 7 and 8 years old must have an adult accompany them on the bike and run.

All participants must be at the lake at 10:00AM to pick up their number, set up their bikes, and get the race instructions.  Race will start promptly at 11:00AM sharp!

** Each 1 mile loop is the entire loop as described below.  The kids come back into the parking lot to turn around for the new loop (2 miles=2 loops, 3 miles=3 loops)**

**The ½ mile loop starts the same as the mile loop but turns around at the corner of Walker and Kraft, shortly after turning onto Kraft.  It will be clearly marked**

  • LEFT out of the Cupsaw Lake parking lot
  • RIGHT on Duffy
  • RIGHT on Kraft Place (*1/2 mile will turn around shortly)
  • LEFT on Hare and continue LEFT on Walker Drive, continue around Walker
  • RIGHT on Kraft
  • LEFT on Duffy
  • LEFT on Cupsaw
  • RIGHT into Cupsaw Lake parking lot

When: Wednesday, July 18 th at Cupsaw Lake Clubhouse
Time: Doors open at 6:00. The calling of prizes will begin at 7:00.
Admission: $5 per person (admission includes one sheet of tickets)

Additional tickets will be sold for $2 a sheet the night of the event

This is a favorite event for the kids every year!!

*Each family that participates in swim lessons, sports, or swim
team is asked to donate prizes. The more prizes we receive, the
more fun it is for the kids. There will also be an adult table, so
adult donations are welcomed as well. Prizes can be dropped
off at the lake or at 52 Marcia Road .

*We will hold a one-day presale for people to buy their prize
tickets ahead of time. This will allow you to separate them for
your kids before you arrive that night. This sale will be held on
Tuesday, July 17 th at the lake from 9:30-2:00. Tickets will also be
available the night of the event.

Teen Night – Scavenger Hunt!

The next teen night is a Scavenger Hunt. It will take place this Thursday (July 12) from 7-9 at the lake. It is for Cupsaw members age 12-16 only, and teens should bring their lake tags as we will be signing them in.

Paddleboarding returns!

The Women’s Athletic Association is pleased to offer paddleboarding at Cupsaw again this summer!!

The schedule is as follows:

Paddleboard Rental
Saturdays – July 14, 21, 28
9:00 – 10:30 am
Children are required to wear life vests (provided).
$20.00 per person per session.

Paddleboard Meditation/Yoga Instruction
Sundays- July 15, 22, 29
9:00 – 10:30 am
Meet at boat launch at beach.
Rental fee includes anchor.
$35 per person per session.

All sessions meet at boat launch at beach.

Program fee MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE.  Fee should be paid by preceding Thursday- dropped in mailbox at 159 Cupsaw Drive before 6:00 pm.

It’s Rookie Ball Time – Kids and Coaches Wanted!

Registration is now open. We need an Assistant Head Coach and other parent volunteers!!

Email rookieball@cupsawlake.org ASAP to lend a hand, and to reserve a roster spot for your child.

Our program is open to all Cupsaw Girls and Boys 4-6 years old
and teaches basic soccer and tee ball skills in a fun setting
to get them ready for future town sports.

10-week program/1 hour per session / $15 per child
Saturday mornings (beginning once the fields are ready!)
