7:30 a.m. – Registration: 5K at Cupsaw Lake Clubhouse
8:30 a.m. – Kids’ 1 Mile
9:00 a.m. – Kids’ Sprints
9:30 a.m. – 5K Run / Walk

Entry Fees:
5K = $25 by Oct 15, $22 with USATF-NJ#  (includes T-shirt) ($30 day of)
1 Mile 14 & under Kids’ Dash or 5 & under Kids’ Sprints = $5
(6 & under: adult supervision recommended)

5K Awards: Top M/F Overall, Top 3 M/F in the following categories: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, & 80+

1 Mile Awards: Top 3 Boys/Girls in the following categories: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13+

This Boo-tiful hilly 5K course will take you around the lake and through the Kraft/Walker neighborhood. Two water stops. Mile markers for each mile. Strollers and baby joggers welcome. No skates, blades, bikes or pets please. Event is sanctioned and course is certified by USATF.

Amenities: Tech T-shirt guaranteed to all 5K pre-registrants. Digital timing system & free post race refreshments to all participants.

Cupsaw Weekend Weather Update

Hopefully this will be the last weather change for Cupsaw Weekend. We are pushing the kid’s triathlon back to a 12:00 start. Please be at the lake for 11:00 check in. Bring down your bikes and we will make the call if we have the bike portion or just do the swim/run for safety reasons. The rest of the days schedule will follow with a slight delay.

Cupsaw Weekend FAQs

Get ready for the best weekend of the summer.  Join us Friday, Saturday and Sunday,

August 3rd  -5th,  for nonstop FUN.

Please see above for the entire schedule, but here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Remember all activities can only be won by Cupsaw Lake Members:

Fab Friday: The Big Splash/Little Splash is open to both kids and adults.  See who makes the biggest and littlest splash

Lake Swim:  Both the adults and kids swim from the dam on the far side of the lake to the diving boards.  Every adult and child must have someone boating alongside them, regardless of your swimming ability.  Kids must do a buoy test swim prior to Saturday with a counselor.

Kids Triathlon:  You must sign up down at the lake by Friday at 8:00pm.  The 5 and 6 year olds do not leave the Cupsaw property.  Our 7 and 8 year olds must have a responsible adult on the course with them.  All participants must have a shirt to wear during the race to pin their number on and must be at the lake by 10:00 am to register.  There will be adults along the course to help the kids if they need it.  All riders, including adults must wear helmets.  Please let Tricia know if you are available to help.  Only Cupsaw kids may participate in this event.

Lunch:  Our Hoagie lunch will be on Saturday.  Slices of large hoagie for sale

Sand Games, Swimming and Diving:  All Cupsaw members (adults and kids) are encouraged to participate in all the events.  Guests are welcome to play but cannot win.  There will be a kickboard division for the swim races for our 5 and 6 year olds who cannot swim the 25 lanes by themselves. 

Adult Volleyball:  Please form teams prior to Saturday night.  All teams must have at least 2 women.  Teams may not have any more than two non-Cupsaw members.   All players must be over 18.

Sunday: There is a full day of events this year that will continue the fun all day Sunday.  Look at the schedule for horseshoes, kayaking, home run derby, free throw contest, Yoga and more.   

New for this year is a teen Volleyball tournament:  Please form teams of 6-7 teens.  Kids must be entering 8th grade, and no older than graduating high school.  Only one non Cupsaw member is allowed per team. 

Lake Swim Requirements

Join us for this great Cupsaw Weekend Tradition.  For the safety of all of our swimmers, there are some requirements for the boaters and the swimmers: 

  • All Swimmers, adult and child, must have their own boater for the entire swim. 
  • All boaters for the adult swim must be 13 years of age or older
  • All boaters for the kid’s swim must be 18 years of age or older, or be lifeguard certified.
  • If you do not have a boater, please ask around, check the boater volunteer sheet at the lake, or contact Triciasiegel31@gmail.com.
  • All kid swimmers 13 and under must pass a swim test to the buoy during the weeks before Cupsaw Weekend.  Kids who take morning swim lessons will take the buoy test in class.  If your child misses the buoy swim, or is not in morning lessons they must attend a testing time.  Please ask your child if they have passed the test.

Kids Triathlon

Join us Saturday August 4th for our 9thAnnual Kids Triathlon.

Open to CLIA members ages 5 to 14.

Sign up at the Lake by Friday August 3rd.

 

Event Distances:

5/6 year olds:  shallow end swim to rope, bike 2 laps around the parking lot circle, run 1 lap

7/8 year olds:  25 meter swim, 1 mile bike, ½ mile run

9/10 year olds:  50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, ½ mile run

11/12 year olds:  50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run

13/14 year olds:  100 meter swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run

 

ALL participants must wear a bike helmet on the course, including adults.  NO EXCEPTIONS

All participants 7 and 8 years old must have an adult accompany them on the bike and run.

All participants must be at the lake at 10:00AM to pick up their number, set up their bikes, and get the race instructions.  Race will start promptly at 11:00AM sharp!

** Each 1 mile loop is the entire loop as described below.  The kids come back into the parking lot to turn around for the new loop (2 miles=2 loops, 3 miles=3 loops)**

**The ½ mile loop starts the same as the mile loop but turns around at the corner of Walker and Kraft, shortly after turning onto Kraft.  It will be clearly marked**

 

Route:

  • LEFT out of the Cupsaw Lake parking lot
  • RIGHT on Duffy
  • RIGHT on Kraft Place (*1/2 mile will turn around shortly)
  • LEFT on Hare and continue LEFT on Walker Drive, continue around Walker
  • RIGHT on Kraft
  • LEFT on Duffy
  • LEFT on Cupsaw
  • RIGHT into Cupsaw Lake parking lot

Bunco is a simple dice game where you win prizes.
Complimentary sangria, chips and Texas Caviar!
Donations to Puzzle Farms (a local non-profit) are encouraged – in lieu of admission fee.
BRING A BOTTLE OF WINE, come down to win prizes and have fun with your neighbors and friends.
